Hemodialysis Training Program for Nurses
A course designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide hemodialysis treatment and efficient care to renal patients. It consists of one week didactic sessions on the principles of hemodialysis, and four weeks clinical exposure in a dialysis facility.
Intermediate Course on Bowel Anastomosis and Repair Skills
An eight-hour workshop which covers the basic principles of performing a good bowel anastomosis. It includes discussion on the prevention and management of anastomotic complications and the different techniques of bowel anastomosis.
Cancer Chemotherapy Course 101
A one-day seminar which covers the principles of chemotherapy; safety standards required during the preparation, administration and storage of chemotherapeutic agents; and, nursing management for patients undergoing chemotherapy. It aims to train and increase nurses’ competency level by providing them basic knowledge and skills in the field of oncology nursing. Registration requirements include valid PRC License and PNA Membership ID.
Intravenous Therapy Refresher Course (for Renewal of ANSAP IVT Card)
Intravenous Therapy (IVT) Updates or Refresher Courses are primarily designed to provide nurses information and skills related to infusion therapy. The three-day course gives participants 24 continuing education units, which may be applied for renewal of ANSAP IV Therapy Cards. While target participants are registered nurses whose ANSAP IVT Cards expired in 2012 onwards, nurses who wish to enroll for the purpose of professional development are also welcome to join.
Basic Laparoscopy Workshop
This course is designed to give junior and senior general surgery residents both didactic and hands-on workshop on basic laparoscopic skills and laparoscopic suturing. Lectures, video laboratories and small group tutorial using pelvic trainer model will be used to comprehensively discuss and demonstrate the basic principles of laparoscopy and laparoscopic suturing, and their clinical application. Hands-on exercises on basic skills and actual performance of different laparoscopic suturing techniques complete the course.
Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC) Course
The Definitive Surgical Trauma Care DSTC) Course is developed under the auspices of the International Association for Trauma and Surgical Intensive Care (IATSIC) to address the process of surgical decision-making and operative techniques involved in the management of life-threatening injuries in the trauma patient. The intensive three-day course is a mixture of lecture-based learning, case discussion and hands-on surgical skills training on animal models.
Dialysis Center Technician Course
A four-week course on the principles of dialysis center operation. Focus will be the technical aspects of dialysis treatment and the important tasks which a dialysis technician is expected to perform during hemodialysis procedure. Training methodology includes didactics and hands-on training in a dialysis facility.
