Basic Skills Development in Wound Closure Techniques
A course that caters to residents of surgical specialties, physicians, interns, medical students, and nurses, with a structured learning in basic wound suturing. Topics include:
- Basic knot tying
- Handling of basic surgical instruments
- Techniques in basic wound suturing
- Types of sutures
Basic Course on Chemotherapy for Nurses
A one-day seminar which covers the principles of chemotherapy; safety standards required during the preparation, administration and storage of chemotherapeutic agents; and, nursing management for patients undergoing chemotherapy. It aims to train and increase nurses’ competency level by providing them basic knowledge and skills in the field of oncology nursing.
Intravenous Therapy Updates (For renewal of IVT Card)
Intravenous Therapy (IVT) Updates are primarily designed to provide nurses the latest information and skills related to infusion therapy. The three-day course gives participants 24 continuing education units, which may be applied for renewal of ANSAP IV Therapy Cards.
Hemodialysis Training Program for Nurses
A course designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide hemodialysis treatment and efficient care to renal patients. It consists of one week didactic sessions on the principles of hemodialysis, and four weeks clinical exposure in a dialysis facility.
Building Competencies in Managing Surgical Instruments
A course designed for nurses and CSSD technicians who intend to enhance their knowledge and skills in the proper care and management of basic surgical instruments. Course topics include the instrument cycle and the factors affecting the lifespan of surgical instruments; updates on the different types of reprocessing of surgical instruments; and, recommendations on its proper care and maintenance. A workshop on visual and function tests, packaging, storage and sterilization completes the program.
Enhancing Nurse Competency in Perioperative Neurosurgery
A course on perioperative nursing which encompasses a review of neuroanatomy, neurosurgical terminologies and procedures, and a discussion of basic competencies required of a perioperative nurse. It also serves as an introduction to neurosurgical instruments, equipment, and neuroendoscopy.
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy Training Program
A five-day intensive program which provides nurses technical and nursing management skills and knowledge on handling and troubleshooting CRRT machines.
Dialysis Center Technician Course
A three-week course on the principles of dialysis center operation. Focus will be the technical aspects of dialysis treatment and the important tasks which a dialysis technician is expected to perform during hemodialysis procedure. Training methodology includes didactics and hands-on training in a dialysis facility.
Perioperative Nursing 101
A twenty-two (22) day Basic Competency Training Program for nurses which covers the principles and techniques of perioperative nursing and their application in surgical settings. It includes extensive learning of AORN standards and recommended practices as well as competency-based training.
